Our Exercise Referral programme is a 12 week structured plan to help those living with a long-term condition have a way back into being active. Our team of Activators will work with a client to create a tailored exercise programme and offer support throughout to ensure they have the tools and knowledge to continue their exercise and wellbeing journey after completion of the 12 weeks.
As part of this role, you can help to support our supervised gym sessions by assisting clients with equipment or by being that friendly face to chat with whilst they exercise. In addition, we also have the possibility of supporting clients in a 1-to-1 capacity for those that may require more support or who may be nervous for their first session with re:fresh.
Key Tasks
- To support and encourage clients
- To be respectful of the client’s needs and remain non-judgemental
- To be a good role model and promote the benefits of physical activity
- Ensure the clients safety at all times
- Individually support clients during the session if required
- To help the session leader as required
- To assist the session leader with registers as required
- Log volunteering hours via an on-line computer system

- A good base knowledge of equipment within a gym setting
Training
- A DBS is required for all roles with re:fresh
- Full Gym Induction (for each site)
- Volunteer Learning Passport access (e-learning)
