Our Exercise on Referral Scheme is intended for people who live or have a GP in Blackburn with Darwen, are over 16, are currently inactive – doing less than 30 minutes of physical activity per week, and have a recurring illness or chronic medical condition, such as diabetes, heart condition (heart attack, heart surgery, and angina), high cholesterol, high blood pressure, joint or muscle conditions, mental health problems, pulmonary diseases and epilepsy
We also offer Weight Management support within the referral scheme. Click here for more information.
As we get older our muscle strength and balance reduces, and this increases our risk of having a life-changing fall. Keeping active and doing simple strength and balance exercises can help to reduce this risk, and you are never too old to start.
We are here to support you to improve your strength and balance which help to make daily activities easier to manage, keeping you independent for longer.
For more information or for further support, complete the self-referral form below, or contact The Wellbeing Service on 01254 682027 or email wellbeing@blackburn.gov.uk
