Get personal information and support to keep yourself healthy
As we age, we are more prone to developing health conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease or diabetes. A Health Check is a great way to spot early signs of these conditions, and get some personalised information and support to keep yourself healthy.
If you meet the following criteria:
- Aged between 40 – 74 years
- Haven’t had an NHS Health Check in the last 5 years
- No current diagnoses of, or be taking medication for any of the following:
- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- Atrial fibrillation
- High cholesterol
- Diabetes
- Strokes or mini-strokes
- Kidney disease
- Dementia
You could be eligible for a free NHS Health Check with one of our Health Trainers. Click here for more information on our Health Trainers.
During the health check, we will ask some questions about your lifestyle, family medical history, and take some measurements such as height, weight and blood pressure. If you are eligible for an NHS Health Check, we will also take a finger-stick blood sample to check your glucose and cholesterol levels. Depending on your results, you will be given personalised guidance to help you lower your risk of a stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes or dementia, and maintain or improve your health.
