Join us for a free ‘We Are Undefeatable’ Event, in partnership with Blackburn Youth Zone, designed to support people living with long-term health conditions, as well as a younger, preventative approach for those wanting to protect their future health.

Some long-term health conditions can include: Pre-Diabetic / Diabetic, Raised or High Cholesterol, High Blood Pressure, Arthritis / Muscle or Joint Pain, Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease, Recovery from Stroke, Parkinson’s and Dementia.

This welcoming and inclusive event will show how being active – in ways that work for you – can support both physical and mental wellbeing, whatever your starting point. Get your FREE goody bag on arrival, and FREE food & drinks will be available throughout the event.

What to expect on the day…

Hear directly from ‘We Are Undefeatable’ storytellers as they share their lived experiences of managing long-term health conditions and how being active has supported both their physical and mental wellbeing.

Expect honest conversations, inspiring stories, and practical takeaways – with time for questions too.

Handshake 1:1 Support

Our friendly Health & Wellbeing Coaches and Social Prescribers will be available throughout the event to offer one-to-one, informal guidance for people living with long-term health conditions.

While they are not medical professionals, they can:

– Listen to your goals and concerns

– Help you explore suitable ways to be active

– Support for those at risk of falling out of work, or are out of work due to a health condition

– Point you in the right direction for local support

No pressure, no judgement – just a friendly chat

Three o'clock Taster Session Timetable coming soon…

Try a range of gentle, accessible taster sessions designed for people with long-term health conditions, or those who want to ease into being more active. Each of these taster sessions are actual activities delivered across Blackburn and Darwen by our local partners.

These sessions will focus on confidence and comfort, enjoyment over intensity, and moving in a way that suits you. If you are looking to take part, please ensure that you wear suitable clothing and footwear for movement, and bring water and any relevant medication you require.

A full timetable of sessions will be released soon. Some sessions will have limited spaces and require booking in advance. Check out our Facebook page for the latest updates, and keep an eye out for our booking form to be released once the timetable is live.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to book?

The event is free to attend and you can drop in anytime between 4pm and 7pm. Some taster sessions will require booking due to limited spaces, and the 1-1 health coaching sessions and full NHS health checks will require booking also.  Full details and booking links will be shared once the taster session timetable goes live.

Who is the event for?

This event is for people living with long-term health conditions, and those wanting to take a preventative approach to their health and risk of conditions. This event is also family-friendly and will have a range of activities suitable for all ages and abilities.

Do I need to be fit to take part?

Not at all. Activities are low-level, inclusive, and optional. You’re welcome to join in as much or as little as you like.

Is the event accessible?

We aim to make the event as accessible and welcoming as possible. There will be no onsite parking available. However, there are several nearby options within a few minutes walk: Newspaper House – Blackburn Car Park, Premier Inn Blackburn Town Centre, Weir Street BB2 2AX, Edmondsons Ltd. Alternatively, Morrisons offers 2 hours complimentary parking. There is also nearby access to public transport, with the bus and train station a short walk away. There are lifts available to each floor, and wheelchair-friendly entrances to the venue with accessible toilets. There will be halal and vegetarian options available throughout the event. Clear signage to each room or activity on the day, with staff and volunteers on hand to offer support and help to find your way.
