Do I need to book?
The event is free to attend and you can drop in anytime between 4pm and 7pm. Some taster sessions will require booking due to limited spaces, and the 1-1 health coaching sessions and full NHS health checks will require booking also. Full details and booking links will be shared once the taster session timetable goes live.
Who is the event for?
This event is for people living with long-term health conditions, and those wanting to take a preventative approach to their health and risk of conditions. This event is also family-friendly and will have a range of activities suitable for all ages and abilities.
Do I need to be fit to take part?
Not at all. Activities are low-level, inclusive, and optional. You’re welcome to join in as much or as little as you like.
Is the event accessible?
We aim to make the event as accessible and welcoming as possible. There will be no onsite parking available. However, there are several nearby options within a few minutes walk: Newspaper House – Blackburn Car Park, Premier Inn Blackburn Town Centre, Weir Street BB2 2AX, Edmondsons Ltd. Alternatively, Morrisons offers 2 hours complimentary parking. There is also nearby access to public transport, with the bus and train station a short walk away. There are lifts available to each floor, and wheelchair-friendly entrances to the venue with accessible toilets. There will be halal and vegetarian options available throughout the event. Clear signage to each room or activity on the day, with staff and volunteers on hand to offer support and help to find your way.
