As part of our service, we often work with children centres, community centres and other organisations to set up and run sessions aimed at children aged 4 and under. These sessions are aimed at learning through play and teach the fundamentals of movement, balance and coordination, all through a fun and interactive session. If working with young children and teaching these developmental techniques is of interest to you, then please get in touch by applying for this role.

Key Tasks

  • – To support the session leader to deliver the session
  • – Help prepare the room and/or set up any equipment needed
  • – Take a register at the beginning of the session
  • – Individually support children during the session if
  • required
  • – Offer encouragement to the group throughout
  • – To help the session leader as required
  • – Log volunteer hours via an online computer system

Skills & Abilities

  • – Enthusiastic and motivated
  • – Good communication skills
  • – Reliable and trustworthy
  • – Friendly and approachable
  • – A keen interest in the benefits of physical activity in the
  • development of children

Training

  • – A DBS is required for all roles
  • – Volunteer Learning Passport access (e-learning)
  • – Emergency First Aid Course
