Following the effects of covid-19 the refresh team will be taking some time to come together, regroup and plan ahead. As a result, we will be operating a revised timetable for the period of 4th - 15th July. We look forward to seeing you all back the week beginning the 18th July – keep an eye out for our new timetable as it develops from then onwards. Health Trainers

How we can support with behaviour change

Health Trainers operate within the community to provide information, motivation and support, on a one to one basis, using health coaching to help individuals make healthy lifestyle changes.  They encourage individuals to set their own goals and enable them to assess their lifestyle and discover which factors have an impact on their health.

Health Trainers are skilled in motivating individuals, are caring and empathetic with the knowledge needed ‘to point individuals in the right direction’ to make lifestyle changes that will last a lifetime.  They offer a flexible, confidential and non-judgemental service. Health Trainers are there to help and support towards change, they don’t just tell people what to do; they stay with them to take the first steps.

What is health coaching?

Health coaching gives people the knowledge, skills and confidence to become more active in their care to maximize personal well-being and overall health.

Evidence shows that health coaching can improve health related behaviours including medication compliance, patient activation, reduce hospital use and help to manage long term conditions.
