What is it?
Our led walks are perfect for anyone just starting on their physical activity journey. Being active outdoors offers one of the most reliable boosts to your mental and physical wellbeing.
Our health walks last 30 minutes and start from various venues throughout our communities. We also have a variety of walks led by volunteers which last a little longer and cover a greater distance.

Health benefits to be gained from short brisk walking include:
- lower blood pressure
- reduced risk of coronary heart disease, strokes and Type 2 diabetes
- reduced risk of certain cancers
- improved flexibility and strength of muscles, joints and bones
- improved mental health due to reduced risk of depression, anxiety and stress
Please note that in adverse weather conditions the sessions may be CANCELLED at short notice. If in any doubt please contact the Wellbeing Service on the day to check.
Who is it for?
Blackburn with Darwen Walks are ideal for all abilities.
They will help you improve your general health and well-being, may introduce you to new friends and help you discover new areas to walk on your doorstep.
