The re:fresh Volunteers programme offers a range of volunteer opportunities in physocal activity and health.
GARDENS AND ALLOTMENTS
Supporting individuals and groups to learn about growing fruit and vegetables and helping to maintain the site.
ACTIVITY BUDDY
One to one support for individuals wanting to be more active. Activities such as walking, cycling, swimming, gym and exercise sessions.
SESSION SUPPORT
Assist members of staff to deliver weekly sessions in activities such as walking, cycling, fitness classes and the gym.
SESSION LEADER
Group leader in activities such as walking, running, sports and fitness.
RE:FRESH REP
Supporting our healthy lifestyles team with customer services and administration duties.
CAMPAIGNS AND EVENTS
Helping out at local events. This will involve a variety of different roles based on the nature of the event.
GROUP VOLUNTEERING
Working as part of a group to promote physical activity and health.
HEALTH CHAMPION
To promote and inspire your work colleagues or members of your community to take part in health and wellbeing activities.
Are you interested?
We are looking to recruit volunteers who are:
- over the age of 16
- friendly and approachable
- reliable and trustworthy
- enthusiastic and motivated
- passionate about health and wellbeing
All volunteer opportunities are based within Blackburn and Darwen. Each volunteer will be supported through a structured recruitment process. Training will be given, with ongoing support throughout.
Some volunteer roles require references and a DBS check.

COVID-19
Due to COVID-19 restrictions a number of our volunteer roles are not available at the moment. We are still actively seeking individuals who may want to be a health representative in their workplace or community and have training available. If you would like more information please get in touch.
