We offer a range of activity sessions for adults with a learning disability and autism.

Our sessions aim to help people lead an active lifestyle and improve their health and wellbeing.
Our staff are friendly and helpful and sessions are open to all abilities.
So, if you fancy trying something new, want to improve your fitness or just enjoy meeting other people, come along!

Here is some of the activities you can take part in:

Archery is good for balance, hand eye co-ordination and upper body strength. The rules of archery keep it safe. Refresh have a qualified instructor and trained volunteers to help or advise you. All equipment is provided. Limited spaces available.

Cycling is low impact and easy on your joints but still helps you get in shape. Refresh has a good selection of specialised cycles to suit a wide range of abilities.

Dancing can reduce stress, tension and make you feel good. The routines also aid memory and co-ordination, plus it’s great fun.

Dodgeball can be fun, energetic and promotes team spirit. This session works well for all abilities.

Football improves fitness and being part of a team can be lots of fun. It gives your heart and muscles a good workout.

Games Session is a social session, come along play some indoor bowls, curling or many of the other games we have on offer. Have a chat and make some friends.

Gym exercise is a great way to get in shape. It can get your heart pumping, build muscle and increase your metabolism.

Health Walk a short wheelchair accessible walk around the local area, a low impact and sociable way to exercise.

Multi Sports develop your hand eye co-ordination and team spirit. This session is fun and for all abilities.

Swimming gives the whole body a workout and is low impact on your joints. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced swimmer our session will be ideal for you.

 

Check out our Health Walks taking place at Albion Mill, every Tuesday 10:30am – 11:30am. A short, relaxed wheelchair accessible walk around the local area. Get some fresh air and have a chat!

 

SESSIONS ARE £1* FOR residents of BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN and £2 for non residents (except walking).

Just bring your Leisure card when you attend (support staff are FREE but will need one as well)
