Free Health Check

If you are 35-74 a free NHS Health Check will point you in the right direction.

Free health checks aimed at picking up any health conditions or concerns before they become an issue are being offered at community venues. The scheme is being run by the NHS in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

The checks include assessments of high cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar levels.  They can help pick up on any risks associated with conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and kidney disease, which can sometimes be prevented by improvements or alterations to lifestyles.

NB The checks are open to people who have a GP in Blackburn with Darwen and have not already been diagnosed with heart disease, kidney disease or diabetes.
