beeZ Card
The beeZ card is Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council’s leisure card. The card allows you to access leisure centres and leisure facilities across the borough, including activities as part of the re:fresh free leisure scheme.
beeZ cards are free to people who live, work, attend full time education or who have a GP within Blackburn or Darwen. However if you do not qualify for a free card, they can be purchased at an annual cost of £13 for adults, £7 for children/OAP's and £23 for a family. All beeZ card holders are entitled to:

How to apply
You can apply online for a beeZ card or you can pick up an application form from any council leisure centre or from Blackburn and Darwen town halls and libraries. Completed application forms will need to be returned to a council leisure centre. If you qualify for a free beeZ card you will need to show proof of eligibility.

Have you had a beeZ card, but can’t find it?
All customers who are eligible for the re:fresh scheme are entitled to one free replacement beeZ card. Any further replacement cards will have to be paid for, at a cost of £3.75.
If you don't qualify for re:fresh, there is a £3.75 replacement fee for lost cards. If your membership has expired, you will need to pay the price of an annual beeZ membership.
Concession Memberships
If you are a resident in Blackburn or Darwen and in receipt of any of the benefits listed below you will qualify for a concession membership. This membership entitles you to 30% off the price of paid activities at off-peak times (Mon-Fri: 8.30am-4.30pm and Sat & Sun: 9am-5pm).

To qualify for a concession membership as described above, you must provide the appropriate proof. Concession memberships last for one year, to renew your membership you will need to re-show your proof every year at any council leisure centre reception.
Over 75 Membership
Anyone aged 75 or over is entitled to a free beeZ card and an over 75 concession membership, including non-residents. The membership is free and allows access to leisure facilities for free at peak times (some restrictions may apply). To apply for this membership you will need to show proof of age at any council leisure centre; this can be a passport, driving license, birth certificate or a bus pass.
High Performance Athlete Membership
The high performance athlete membership is also free and entitles the holder to a free beeZ card and free use of all appropriate sports facilities available at council leisure centres, on a casual basis. To qualify a person needs to:

Be a member of a borough based club

Compete at Regional, National or International level

Be approaching international honours or considered by the sports governing body to be capable of attaining this level

Compete at Amateur Status.
